Well I am still journaling. Sometimes I am better than others. But overall I am happy that I am getting my thoughts and feelings out. I got some new pens from a friend and I love putting those new babes to work. Makes journaling that much more rewarding. I enjoy putting cards, ticket stubs and other moments in my journal. It helps me to see the beauty in all things.
Have a great week!

Still Journaling
I am still quite smitten with journaling. I will admit that it is rough to keep up and just like blogging I do some really awesome writing in the shower that never quite makes it where it needs to go. Oh well. I won't beat myself up too much since whatever I do is a lot more than what I was doing last year this time ;) Today I got to use some new pens and stickers that my co-worker surprised me with... I love an unexpected nicety.
My journals are a a way to document all of the insanity that is floating around in my head. Plus I get to be all creative too. This month I am looking forward to including two wonderful Mother's Day cards that I received. Some of the stuff I have included include a cutout of Linus that I got when the sewing club girls donated quilts to Project Linus, business card to my son's dentist, tickets to the circus and a fortune. These are things that I would never have held onto but they do mark the thing that I have been through this year. I am loving capturing these moments in this way. I even have some pages that I watercolored while my little man was doing his artwork. How amazing is that!?
Do any of you journal? Let me know what keeps you motivated.

Journaling:A reflection
I have been busy journaling for the past month and the verdict is in: I love it! The combination of colors, markers, paint, magazine words etc has really made journaling much more creative so I look forward to doing it a lot more. I have not really had any writer's block for subject matter either. I am using inspiration from all sorts of places.
Music lyrics: " I just want you to know, your whole being is beautiful" by Common inspired a whole post about love and the loves of my life.
Quotes: "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside of you" by Maya Angelou inspired me to think about my story: I thought of my Southern roots that ground me, my love of my home/home life and how one of my greatest flaws is my inability to seek/accept help.
Fabric: I include swatches of fabric that I really love and try to find what project works for that fabric.
You get the drift. Inspiration is all around me and journaling helps me look for the inspiration and allow inspirational things to compel me to be a better more reflective ME. I love journaling :)

Journaling
I have mentioned before that I wanted to be diligent about using my journal. This week went pretty good- I missed a day. No excuses, I was in super sleepy mode and did not want to exert the effort to put pen to paper. Since I am a glass half full kind of person, I see that as success! Go me. And since I started my journal on 12/26 (my bday) it is even more awesomely amazing that I have been sticking at it longer than the first week of the year. Go ME!!
I have stumbled on a blog that is doing a Journaling through January effort and since I would love to have prompts and all that I have decided to participate. I hope that will keep me even more focused on this aspiration of mine.
Just for the record I am using a nice bound sketchbook with 8x11 white pages that just scream, "Fill me up with your witty, insightful, awesomely amazing thoughts!" So I am trying to do just that. Bonus points for this sketchbook being one I already had- brand new and all from the now defunct Borders Books. Which helps with my whole being a better steward of my money resolution-like goal.
So if I were going to journal about my New Year's Resolutions~
Exercise/fitness: yoga ( 3 ) walking ( 1)
Money: no unnecessary purchases at Target, yeah and no splurges
Journaling: see above
Clutter removal: clean pantry, clean truck ( my hubby eve complimented me on this one), donation of stuff
Great start! How did your first week of 2012 go? I hope it is off to an awesome start!
